Create an informative demonstration video with an animated title sequence to introduce the topic and then explain to viewers how to complete the task.
Objective
Tasked with creating a demonstration video, I decided to do a topic that is dear to me, breakfast food, specifically cooking bacon and eggs!
Design Strategy
When I began sketching out ideas, I was inspired by a title sequence from the Apple TV+ series, The Morning Show (the images below). Its use of the basic shapes and flat design gave me a direction for my introduction.
I first began with creating a single composition for the first shot of the title sequence, I then wanted to create a feel of cause and effect that would create a nice flow from one shot to another. Once I had my first layout down of the egg breaking, the yolk oozing out would then become the next shot for the title sequence and this cause and effect formula would repeat for each shot. Not only did this create a nice flow for my title sequence, it created a smooth blend of my color palette, highlighting all colors of bacon and eggs.
Execution
After the concept was complete, I began to create the title sequence using After Effects to make the concepts and animation come to life and with the smooth transitions from one scene to the next and the vibrant color palette. As I was creating the intro, I was filming the actual scenes in my kitchen demonstrating how to cook bacon and eggs.
